Top bird hunting

In winter time we offerbird hunting where we hunt for example capercaillie and black grouse. “Tree top bird hunting” is a type of hunting that offers fantastic nature experiences on the snow covered grounds. The hunting takes place on skis and mostly without dogs.

The “tree top bird hunting”is, just as the moose and bear hunt, an “all inclusive” package where an experienced hunting leader, food, drinks, accommodation and transportation from Åre/Östersund is included. Skis for loose snow condition are also included.

The hunting day

The day will begin early in the morning with breakfast while the hunting leader presents the plans for the day. Some extra coffee will be boiled over the fire to bring to the forest together with some sandwiches and something good to nibble on.

After breakfast it’s time for the first hunt of the day.

At lunch you will all take a break and gather at the hunting cabin for lunch. Lunch will most probably be something filling and heart warming cooked over the Muurikka.

Then it is time for the next round in the forest.

After the hunt you will enjoy a nice wood fire sauna together with some beer and snacks. A dinner cooked by your host then awaits, based by ingredients from the north such as reindeer, moose or char. Maybe you will then end the day in the wood fire hot tub looking up at the stars. A true hit!
